Common Questions
Questions we are asked often.
If your question is not here, call the practice and ask. We would rather answer it before your visit than during it.
New Patients
Plan for a full comprehensive appointment rather than a quick look. It covers an examination, any images we need, a conversation about your history and a discussion of what we found before you leave.
A photo ID, your insurance card if you carry one, and a current list of medications including anything over the counter that you take regularly.
Yes. The new patient forms are available on the new patients page. Filling them out at home means your appointment starts with a conversation rather than a clipboard.
Sometimes, though it is not the goal. We examine first and explain the findings. If something needs immediate attention we will say so and discuss the options with you.
We see families, and children are welcome. If a child needs care that is better delivered by a pediatric specialist, we will tell you and help arrange it.
Treatment
It is common, and it is not a reason for a lecture. We examine, explain what we see and build a plan you can work through at a pace that suits you.
Tell us what has been difficult before and we will plan around it. That can mean anesthetic given slowly, shorter appointments, breaks during longer work, or a conversation about other options for anxious patients.
No. Plans are usually sequenced, with anything urgent handled first and the rest scheduled around your timing and budget. We will tell you plainly what can wait and what cannot.
Yes, when there is a reason to. Older restorations can leak, crack or wear, and we will show you what we are seeing before recommending replacement.
Implant planning, placement and restoration are handled here in most cases. Where a case is better served by a specialist, we will say so and coordinate the care.
Call the practice. We keep room in the schedule for urgent problems, and the first job is to get you comfortable before discussing the longer term repair.
Insurance and Cost
We accept all PPO insurance and file claims on your behalf. Provide your insurance details when you schedule and we will verify benefits before your first appointment.
We verify benefits in advance and share what we find. Because insurance policies vary, we can estimate your coverage in good faith but cannot guarantee it.
CareCredit is available, and we offer an in-office financing plan for uninsured patients that reduces the cost of certain procedures. Ask when you schedule and we will walk you through it.
Cash, card and check are all accepted. What you owe is discussed before treatment begins, not after.
Yes. You receive the findings, the options and the cost in writing first. If the plan changes along the way, we stop and discuss it with you.
The Practice
That is the intention. Continuity is part of how the practice is organized, so the person across from you generally remembers the last conversation.
